Our Story

Some couples meet in coffee shops. Some lock eyes across a college campus. But Arik and Julia? Arik and Julia’s love story begins in a place that rivals Paris, Venice, and the top of the Empire State Building in romance: Sheetz. Yes, the gas station. Julia was working the register, doing her thing, when in walked a mysterious figure with flowing locks and a hunger for snacks: Arik, accompanied by his Best Man-to-be, Ian. She noticed him. Not in a "he’s probably going to buy a burrito" way, but in a "who is that man with the Fabio hair and what’s his skincare routine?" kind of way. Then he disappeared. Weeks went by. Julia, focused on surviving her senior year of high school, filed the moment away as one of those small blips in life you don’t expect to circle back. Then, like a rom-com on fast-forward, Arik returned, walking in looking like he had stepped out of a shampoo commercial and a barbershop. The long hair was gone. New haircut, new vibe, but still the same guy. Julia noticed again. And again, he walked out with snacks, and unknowingly took a little more of her attention with him. Time passed, Julia focused on her senior year of high school, assuming she'd just had a fleeting Sheetz crush. But fate (and snacks) had other plans. One crisp November day, while Julia was prepping food orders like the everyday hero she is, Arik showed up once again. This time, Julia stared at him and thought, “Wow, he’s cute. I hope he asks me out.” Spoiler: He didn’t. (Arik is adorable, but alas, not a mind reader.) Fast forward a couple of weeks, Julia goes to a hangout. She’s watching people play video games when bam, there’s Arik again, quietly watching from the corner like a brooding indie movie character. So Julia, in true confident-queen fashion, makes the first move: “Hey, you’re a regular at Sheetz, right?”December 7th, 2019(Smooth. Iconic. Historic.) They get to talking. Snapchat usernames are exchanged. And when Julia posts about a hangout at her house over winter break, guess who slides into her messages? That’s right, Sheetz Guy himself. That night, they played pool together and something shifted. Between Julia’s sarcastic commentary and Arik’s quick-witted comebacks, the air filled with banter, laughter, and something more. Julia felt it. She was falling, not in a dramatic, movie-scene kind of way, but in the quiet realization that something about this guy just fit. From there, everything started to fall into place. They kept hanging out, getting to know each other better, turning jokes into deep conversations and shared playlists into memories.Then came the night of one last winter break hangout before school started back up. Julia went to pick Arik up, and before he got in the car, he asked her a question that would change everything: “Will you be my girlfriend?”January 11th, 2020Cue the confetti From that day forward, Julia and Arik became inseparable, supporting, laughing, growing, and loving through everything life tossed their way. Then, in a moment as sweet as a Sheetz milkshake and as timeless as their story, Arik got down on one knee and asked Julia, "Will you be my goose forever?"July 23rd, 2025We know you are thinking...that's it? Right? It's not! The couple is inviting you to their wedding on August 16th, 2026 where they will tie the knot and start the next chapter. From Sheetz snacks to soulmate vows, their story is full of laughter, love, and the magic that happens when you least expect it,&nbsp;like in the middle of a convenience store.

We kindly ask you avoid any shades of blue — those are reserved for the wedding party Summer Ball Attire: Formal To fully embrace the elegance of a castle setting, we invite our guests to dress in Summer Ball attire (Formal). Think classic, festive, and comfortable enough for a late-summer evening on the mountain. For Gentlemen:Suggested Attire: Dress slacks (tailored trousers), a button-down dress shirt (you are welcome to wear a short sleeve as it may be warm out), and a sport coat, blazer, or suit. Ties (neckties or bow ties) are encouraged. The Groom's Exemption: Please note, our Groom will be in a suit jacket, formal vest, bow tie, and dress pants, so we kindly ask our male guests to opt for a suit jacket/blazer or full suit. For Ladies:Suggested Attire: A formal cocktail dress, an elegant midi or maxi dress, or a chic dressy pantsuit. Fabrics like silk, chiffon, lace, or formal cottons are perfect for a summer event. Footwear: Given the castle grounds and mountain location, we recommend comfortable, dressy shoes. You may want to choose block heels, wedges, or elegant flats. Avoid: Very short or very casual sundresses. A Note on Comfort:As our wedding is on a mountain in August, it may be warm during the day and cooler in the evening. We recommend bringing a wrap, shawl, or light jacket to wear after sunset.

We kindly ask that all guests who are planning to stay the night book at one of our two hotel blocks and not at the venue as those accommodations are reserved for the wedding party.

- Please note you are not obligated to book for both nights.- 20 Double Queen rooms have been blocked for this occasion.- Rooms can be booked until July 14th, 2026. After this date room availability can not be guaranteed and you will have to search for different accommodations.- Hotel check-in time is 3:00 pm. They do not take early check-in requests on weekends.- If guests arrive before 3:00 pm, we will do our best to accommodate an early check-in based on room availability.- At the time of reservation, a valid credit or debit card is required to hold the room by the individual guest.- Reservations can be canceled by 4 pm the day prior to arrival without a cancellation penalty.- Canceling a reservation within 24 hours of check-in would result in a fee of 1 night's room rate + tax.- 6:00 PM the evening prior to check-in, our system will charge the room rate + tax on the card on file.- A $100 incidental hold is placed on the card at the time of check-in.

Both hotels are a short walk/drive to the historic Main Street district. This area is perfect for a relaxing afternoon of shopping, dining, and local culture.

Food &amp; Drink:Explore the "Beer, Wine &amp; Spirits in the Burg" scene. Check out:The Renegade Winery (Downtown urban winery)RAW Urban Winery &amp; Hard CideryFloods (a popular local bar/restaurant). Arts &amp; Culture:Sherman Theater: A historic, non-profit concert venue that hosts live music and other performances. Check their schedule for events during your stay.HistoryStroud Mansion: Home of the Monroe County Historical Association. Browse the exhibits to learn about the region's history. Shopping:Main Street Stroudsburg: Wander the shops and art galleries. Look for local spots like Pocono Soap (unique gift shop), or simply enjoy the walkable downtown.

For guests who arrive early at the Inn or want to stay close to the venue, Stroudsmoor itself has a beautiful location and some on-site perks.

Nature:Stroudsmoor 1-Mile Loop Trail: The Inn has its own rustic hiking path, perfect for a short, scenic walk. Look for the trailhead near the Woodsgate section of the property. Relaxation:The Spa at Stroudsmoor: Check their website for services like massages, facials, or salon services (reservations likely required well in advance). Dining:Stroudsmoor Restaurants: Consider making reservations at one of the Inn's various dining options for an elegant mountain meal before the wedding festivities begin.

Since the wedding is in August, the weather will be perfect for enjoying the Pocono Mountains. These attractions are a short drive from Stroudsburg.

Hiking/Waterfalls:Bushkill Falls: Known as the "Niagara of Pennsylvania." A stunning series of eight waterfalls with various trail options. (Approx. 30-40 min drive). Water Activities:Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area: Perfect for scenic hikes, swimming, or renting a kayak/canoe on the Delaware River. (Approx. 15-20 min drive). Nature:Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge: Directly borders Stroudsmoor's mountain. Great for birdwatching and gentle hiking trails. Shopping:The Crossings Premium Outlets: A large outdoor outlet mall for those looking for some retail therapy. (Approx. 15-20 min drive). Family Fun:Consider a day trip to places like Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark (outdoor) or Kalahari (indoor/outdoor) for thrill-seekers. (Approx. 20-30 min drive)
